Happy Birthday Raven!

Left, Swigg has Snow Crow Star pillows at Brooklyn Flat
I wrote this a few days ago, when it really was a foggy morning. Since today is my birthday and raven is the Native American Animal Totem for Libra, I thought this was fitting:

This morning I was awakened by the familiar, slightly haunting, incessant caw of the raven. The trill sound transported me from the dreaming state to the waking state and gave the morning a hint of mystery. I dreamily peered outside the windows above my bed to see the silhouettes of Palm trees, as they similarly emerged from an early morning fog. It wasn’t nearly bright enough outside to be 6:30am. Time to get up. Fall is coming.

The raven, because of its striking black feathers, large size, intelligence and capacity to mimic human sounds, has long been a symbol for either good or evil. I believe that ravens are good luck (there isn't much I believe to be bad luck) and a reminder to look beyond what you see, to be aware, to remain open.

A Wish For You Comes True

Thoughts. Vibes. Energy. Whatever you call it, the more focus and intent that you put on or into something, the more likely it is to come true. Journal the dream, collage your world. Rework it, revise it and refine the dream, as what you want changes. Be specific, be clear and wait. What is yours will come to you. This is my wish for my world. What's yours?

Balance is Key

Libra, libra, libra.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. September 24 - Ocotber 23. Air sign. Opal. The scales of justice. Balance, beauty, ruled by Venus. Diplomatic, idealistic and romantic on one side and gullible, free-spirited, indecisive and self-indulgent on the other.

Remind yourself which half of the scales you want to keep tipped in your favor. An early-European market scale from Lucca Antiques Happy Birthday!

Aries is your opposite

Verdant

The early morning ocean air smelled like seaweed. Heavy, green and wet. Decidedly verdant. Don't you love words that sound like what they mean?

UPDATE: There is a new mag on the green scene, called (natch) Verdant

Rabbit Rabbit

October 1, 2006 seems as good a day as any to begin. I've had this idea, Sacred City, for many, many years and for whatever reason (reasons), I never got around to doing anything about it publicly--until now. This will be for me in the beginning and then, hopefully, others like-minded, will check-in now and again. This is a place for mindful living. For living a stylish, authentic life that acknowledges the mystery of ritual and things we can't see. The goal is to live a complete life that allows for the seen and the unseen. This is for the skeptics and the true believers. Have fun and enjoy the journey!

Why Rabbit, Rabbit? Who doesn't need a little luck . . .
